| Okus doma is a grass-roots initiative launched by migrants/refugees and Croatians. The objective was to promote empowerment and socio-economic integration of migrants/refugees through the set-up of catering activities (and related training) and other actions around food as a kind of “universal language” and vehicle for exchange between cultures. |
In addition, okus doma launched free Croatian language courses for new arrivals as well as cooking classes (for migrants, but also Croatians). Activities also included visits in schools, the creation and selling of a cook book, etc. Partnership and cooperation with a large number of Croatian, European and international civil society organisations led, amongst others, also to the launch of a campaign.
The initiative was also supported by organisations providing training on social entrepreneurship.
